Projects
Through the 100 plus
years the League has existed, it's members have been involved with and
supported many projects to improve habitat for the birds, animals and fish
as well as projects to help the sports men and sports women of all ages.
The following
are some of the projects that the League has either sponsored, helped with,
or been involved with through out the City of Superior and Douglas County:
* Maintaining
and improving the Rifle Range
* Maintaining and improving the Archery Range
* Fish cribs in the Saint Louis River system
* Wood duck houses through out Douglas County
* Amnicon River boat landing
* Docks at many boat landings in the county
* Waterfowl ponds in the Town of Parkland
* The boat launch and fish cleaning station at Barkers Island
* The boat launch and fish cleaning station at Loon's Foot
Landing
* Other boat landings
* Planting fish
* The release of Wild Turkeys
* The rifle team, which has won State and National Championships
* Youth groups
* YMCA
* Kids fun day, held the first Saturday of June at the Brule Fish Hatchery,
which is sponsored by the Wisconsin DNR and the Brule River Sportsman's
Club.
