About
Us!
The
Douglas County Fish and Game League, founded in Superior Wisconsin
in 1905, was started by concerned Sportsmen to
insure the
protection and management of fish and game and the natural resources
of the State.
Following the sprit of the founding members, the Board of Directors
has continued to donate their time to promote wildlife habitat and
ensure youth education.
We have reintroduced Pheasants to the city of Superior and surrounding
area and Wild Turkeys in Douglas County.
Many of our Directors have become Certified Instructors, and have
volunteered their time teaching our youth in A.T.V., Snowmobile,
Boating and Hunters
Safety. In addition we offer a yearly scholarship to local High Schools.
The League purchases and places Handicap Accessible docks at local
lakes, landings on Lakes and Rivers where there is no public access
and Sponsor Handicap Accessible hunting and fishing outings.
The League maintains and operates public Ranges for Rifle, Pistol
and Archery.
To raise money for these projects, the league sponsors an annual
Sports Show, manned by our Directors. All Show profits are put directly
back
into the community projects.
The Douglas County Fish and Game League is recognized by the I.R.S.
as a 501 ( c ) 3 Non-Profit Charitable Organization
